The Samajik Suraksha Pariyojana (Social Security Project) is implemented by Prayas to reduce socio-economic vulnerabilities among tribal and marginalised communities in Rajasthan.
The programme works across 52 villages in Chittorgarh and Pratapgarh districts to improve access to social protection schemes, essential public services and legal rights. It combines community engagement, reliable information, local participation and accountability mechanisms to strengthen the delivery and uptake of government schemes and services.
We combine community awareness, local leadership, entitlement facilitation, evidence-based advocacy and regular monitoring to create sustainable change.
The programme places communities at the heart of local governance and accountability.
Through community-based rights forums, Gram Sabhas, PESA institutions and community volunteers, people are encouraged to understand their rights, raise concerns, participate in decision-making and engage with public institutions.
The programme works to make local governance systems more responsive, inclusive and accountable by strengthening community participation and creating platforms for dialogue between citizens and government institutions.
Community members are supported to identify gaps in public services, document issues, raise grievances and collectively advocate for solutions.
(Figures represent Prayas programme data and may increase with ongoing screening and follow-up.)
The programme aims to move beyond individual support for accessing schemes and build stronger community systems that can continue to identify exclusion, demand accountability and improve access to public services.
